The Colours of Music

One more educational program at the Megaron The Athens Concert Hall is now becoming accessible to children with visual and/or neurodevelopmental disabilities, in collaboration with liminal.

March welcomes us with “The Colours of Music” a workshop for families with children aged 3–5. Through music and colors, it invites children to explore rhythm, collaboration, and connection through movement and imagination.

In the spacious foyer of the Megaron The Athens Concert Hall, a young woman in profile is almost completely hidden behind a flurry of colorful scarves floating before her. From her slightly raised left hand, she scatters another small bouquet of scarves into the air like a magician, which drift lightly before her eyes.

What to expect from The Colours of Music

If each color of the rainbow had its own music, our world would be filled with melody and rhythm. Through singing, dancing, and creative play, children and their caregivers are immersed in the colors of music in a fun and highly imaginative workshop.

A first encounter with art in a workshop where everything is filled with joy and tenderness. Through music, children and their caregivers explore how they relate to and connect with one another.

Maya Miriam Papageorgiou, a music and drama educator, invites us to the Educational Hall of the Megaron The Athens Concert Hall, which will host the workshop on March 21 and 28, and April 4 at 11 a.m.

The Colours of Music become accessible

liminal will adapt the workshop to ensure children with disabilities can participate fully and on equal terms.

What’s planned:

  • access to the space 20 minutes before the workshop begins, allowing children to familiarize themselves with the new environment
  • touch tour of the space and hands-on introduction to the key objects of each session, 20 minutes before the workshop begins
  • adaptation of the activity’s content so that children with visual or neurodevelopmental disabilities can fully follow and enjoy it.
