Nikos Kazantzakis Museum’s Kit
The Museum kit includes a set of educational material and activities created with inspiration from the Museum’s collections and relates to the life and work of the author, following the modern pedagogical methods of non-formal and informal education.
Through a participatory approach, the Museum Kit gives students and teachers the opportunity to get to know the great author through five different aspects of Nikos Kazantzakis. These five modules present Nikos Kazantzakis as a writer, a Cretan, a man, a traveller and an intellectual.
The Educational Museum Kit is available free of charge and is addressed to school groups of the 3rd – 6th grade, high school and lyceum. It is linked to the Curriculum of Primary and Secondary Education and fulfils the aims of the Interdisciplinary Unified Curriculum Framework of the Ministry of Education for the subjects of Language, History, Literature, Geography and Visual Arts.
The material of the Museum Kit is partially accessible for people with visual disabilities with adapted educational activities and instructions for the teachers. Furthermore, students with visual disabilities will be able to get in touch with the great author and learn about his work through tactile and auditory stimuli.
