SEED is starting!
Social and Ecological Engagement through Dance
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the European project Social and Ecological Engagement through Dance (SEED) (February 2025 – August 2026)!
SEED is implemented by liminal (Athens, Greece) and l’éveilleur (Avignon, France), and explores the challenges of ecological and social transitions that shape and influence creative and educational practices in the field of dance. The project approaches dance not only as an artistic expression but also as a vehicle for social and cultural change.

What We Aim to Achieve
The main goal of SEED is to rethink how we create and share art. We want to envision an accessible and sustainable future for dance, by adopting practices that are open and inclusive to all.
From Theory to Practice
We are developing an innovative and user-friendly toolkit for artists, educators, and choreographers who want to integrate ecological sustainability and accessibility into their artistic practices.
The toolkit will include:
- Practical guidelines and tools for sustainable and accessible choreographic practices
- Research pathways for new approaches in art and education
- Support for collaboration and interaction between artists, audiences, and communities
Participating artists with and without disability will have the opportunity to test the toolkit in high-quality arts workshops led by qualified artists. These sessions will provide a supportive environment for participants to develop their artistic skills, explore new approaches, and strengthen collaboration.
Opening the Dialogue
To shape a toolkit that fosters change in choreographic practices, we must first identify the key needs of the dance field. It’s essential to understand how challenges related to sustainability, social justice, and accessibility affect creative and educational processes.
👉 If you are a student, dancer, teacher, choreographer, or work in a cultural organisation, you can contribute to this mapping by completing this questionnaire. In doing so, you’ll take part in co-creating a practical and accessible toolkit that supports artistic practice—without guilt.
💎 An open call for choreographers interested in experimenting with this approach will be announced soon!

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnerships program.
