Mental Health: Speaking openly, acting collectively
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, on Thursday, October 10, at 18:00, liminal, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), and with the participation of the Panhellenic Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Vocational Reintegration (PEPSAEE), is organizing an event aimed at raising awareness about mental health recovery and the right to creativity and support.
This is an event aimed at informing the public about mental health, the obstacles and exclusions experienced by the mentally ill, as well as the ways to inclusion.
Speakers
Ms. Sofia Legaki, Member of the Specialized Day Center – “Centre for Social Dialogue” of PEPSAEE, is sharing her experience and efforts through creativity and her participation in the SDC-CSD.
Ms. Sofia Papaspyropoulou, Psychologist, is participating with a speech titled Recovery and Positive Psychology: The example of the Specialized Day Center – “Center for Social Dialogue” of PEPSAEE
Ms. Loukia Haidemenaki, Research Psychologist/Art Therapist, PhDc, ECPh, is contributing the presentation Art, Mental Health & Recovery: Art Day Center “En-techne Psyche” of PEPSAEE.
A discussion will follow.
About World Mental Health Day
Worldwide, one in eight people lives with mental health conditions that may affect their physical health and well-being, the way they connect with others, and their livelihood. In addition, mental health conditions affect a growing number of adolescents and young people (Ministry of Health, 2023). World Mental Health Day (October 10) was established in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, to raise public awareness on Mental Health issues and on ways to be informed and raise awareness about mental health issues, prevent and address them, always focusing on the right of access to services, support and care for every person in need.
