Theater Workshop, pt.1: Completed!
The Theater Workshop facilitated by Lito Triantafyllidou completed the first part of its group meetings.
“What do you do?”
This was the starting point of our research and of the first meetings of the Theater Workshop group. Liminal with Lyto Triantafyllidou and a wonderful group of 12 participants took a dive into a Collection of Stories, exploring Dramatic Languages.
The timeline of the project
Walking around the neighborhood of Psirri, important questions came up regarding the creation of a new story: Is it possible for the lights, the sounds, the smells or the textures of the streets to become part of a theater set? Which of the persons around us could become the main character of our story? What could we imagine about them from the way they are dressed or when we see them moving or talking?
This way, the group revisited their city under a different perspective. As a guest, set designer Dimitris Polychroniadis joined us in one of these walks and shared some of his experience and best practices when starting to work on a new project.
During the last meetings of the first part of the workshop, the participants focused on the process of writing. How do written words pass into spoken language and engage into action? What is hidden behind them and how does the use of words or silence reveal elements of the personality of our hero?
On our last meeting, we posed some significant questions to be answered before starting the second part which is the one about creative writing. What would you want to write about and why are you the most suitable person to tell that story? With these issues in mind, the group will restart its meeting in March.
The workshop is part of MAP – Moving Action People with the support from the “Erasmus+ KA210-VET programme – Small scale partnerships in vocational education and training”.
