Liminal presents the play INTERVIEW by the theatre group “Emeis”, on Thursday, May 4rth at 21:00, Theatre Anna and Maria Kalouta in Neos Kosmos. The performance is accessible for all . Free entrance.
INTERVIEW
A sociopolitical black comedy by the theatre group “Emeis”
A job interview, four candidates and a voice. At first it seems like a usual interview in a friendly atmosphere. The candidates gradually relax and reveal their weaknesses. The voice starts asking absurd questions and forces them into taking on humiliating challenges, leading to a tragicomic delirium.
The Script for Interview was a collaborative creation by the members of the group during the rehearsals in 2013. The play has been performed more than 230 times in several cities of Greece and abroad. Thousands spectators have watched the performance in theatres, detention centres, detox centres and exhibition venues. Interview was awarded with special mention by the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus & Islands and has been performed by theatre groups in Kalamata and New York.

In the last years, the group has drawn several restless spirits of our society. Since, 2009, the group has put on several plays and has organised theatre workshops, art exhibitions and festivals.
Liminal
Liminal is a cultural organisation aiming to promote more accessible and inclusive arts. Our mission is to provide the opportunity for everyone to engage with contemporary greek theatre art, regardless of social, national, physical or linguistic differences. We create theatrical experiences for all by using accessibility services in existing and new productions as well as organising theatrical workshops and educational events. Our ambition is to transform the creative scene of Greece into a more democratic, inclusive and sustainable creative space. As a team, consisting of artists and scientific partners, we act and create guided by the importance of human values and we fight for the right to freedom of expression and equal access to culture.
Liminal started in 2016 with small-scale, targeted events. We are aiming to find our place in the contemporary Greek society and we are constantly evolving by adding people with different specializations in our team.
Liminal Access World
This program aims to set the basis for Liminal’s future activities by creating a series of chain events: the website www.liminal.eu, the inclusive 2-day event Open Days – Drama School Simulation and the presentation of the play Interview by the theatre group “Emeis” providing complete accessibility. The events are supported by START-Create Cultural Change, a program of the Robert Bosch Stiftung conducted in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki and the Bundesvereinigung Soziokultureller Zentren e.V.
